Over the last 16 years I have explored many styles of yoga including Iyengar, Hatha, Ashtanga, Bikram and Yin. I have settled on practicing a vinyasa flow style myself as I enjoy a strong physical practice, but the real benefit of vinyasa is the calming and meditative effect it has. A vinyasa practice links breath with fluid movement creating a dynamic moving meditation.
I trained as a yoga teacher at Camyoga in Cambridge, UK, completing my training with a 200 hour yoga teaching diploma with merit. I attend workshops and study to continue learning all I can about the mind-body connection, understanding yoga philosophy, and deepening my own practice so I can help students get more out of theirs.
My classes and teaching are influenced by my having lived in the United States, Belgium, Poland, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Indonesia, England and France and the benefits and challenges moving around the world have brought. Pilates core exercises and my work experience as a personal fitness trainer also find their way into my classes.
Other Bodywork Experience:
I entered the fitness industry as a certified personal trainer in 2008 after working with a trainer myself and realising how effective it can be. I followed that certification with a Corrective Exercise Specialist qualification because of my interest in alignment and safe movement practices.
